Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Designer with strong experience in FEED and Detail Design phases of onshore oil & gas projects preferably with exposure to ADNOC standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing HVAC design deliverables ensuring compliance with project specifications international codes and ADNOC requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop HVAC design deliverables including: HVAC layouts (equipment ducting piping), HVAC equipment selection and data sheets, Ducting and piping routing drawings, Control schematics, Bill of quantities (BOQ).
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and architectural teams to ensure integration of HVAC systems.
  • Prepare and review HVAC design documents in line with FEED and Detail Design requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications and relevant international codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA etc.).
  • Support in HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing and system design.
  • Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for technical clarifications and design validation.
  • Attend design review meetings (Model Reviews, HAZID, HAZOP etc.).
  • Provide design support during procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Incorporate ADNOC and client feedback into the design deliverables.
  • Assist in 3D modeling of HVAC systems using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartPlant 3D or similar).
Qualifications
  • Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8 years of experience in HVAC design with minimum 3-5 years on ADNOC onshore projects (FEED and Detail Design).
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems used in oil & gas facilities (substations, control buildings, shelters, substations, utility buildings).
  • Proficient in HVAC design software such as HAP, Carrier HAP, E20 or similar tools.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and experience with 3D modeling software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ADNOC design standards and documentation practices.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality deliverables within tight deadlines.
  • ASHRAE membership or certifications (preferred).
  • ADNOC-approved designer status (preferred).
