We are seeking a warm professional and guest-focused Host/Hostess to join our restaurant specializing in authentic Japanese and Chinese cuisine including Sushi Teppanyaki Dim Sum and Wok-style dishes. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while managing seating arrangements and supporting smooth restaurant operations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests in a friendly, polite and professional manner.
• Manage reservations and walk-in guests efficiently to ensure optimal table turnover.
• Escort guests to tables and present menus highlighting specialty offerings such as sushi bars, teppanyaki grills and dim sum sections.
• Coordinate with service staff and kitchen teams to maintain smooth guest flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and waiting areas.
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests and basic complaints promptly and courteously.
• Monitor dining area capacity and waiting times communicating clearly with guests.
• Support cultural dining experiences by understanding Japanese and Chinese dining etiquette.
• Assist in special events, themed nights or promotional activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Host/Hostess in an Asian fine-dining or specialty cuisine restaurant preferred.
• Knowledge of Japanese and Chinese cuisine (Sushi Teppanyaki Dim Sum Wok dishes) is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy service hours.
