Job Description

Wood is recruiting recent engineering graduates for the Graduate Tech Safety Engineer – UAE National to join its UAE Business Unit and Engineering team in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full‑time, office‑based role with travel requirements.

Key Objectives / Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Lead Discipline Engineer, assume sole responsibility for assigned engineering tasks.
  • Carry out technical safety discipline work within a project team, supporting field development of oil & gas production facilities.
  • Prepare process safety deliverables for an oil and gas project, ensuring compliance with applicable engineering codes and client policies.
  • Ensure all work is completed to quality standards and delivered according to the project schedule.
  • Promote safe behaviour at all times.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by the Lead / Senior Discipline Engineers.
  • Co‑ordinate with other disciplines during design development, construction, pre‑commissioning and start‑up.
  • Assist in the coordination of all activities related to technical safety engineering design.

Projects and Clients

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an international client operator in delivering a portfolio of onshore capital projects through engineering, project management, EPC contract management and supply chain, construction and commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices. Projects include both greenfield and brownfield modifications and the integration of low‑carbon solutions to support the client’s energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Qualifications / Expectations
  • MSc / BE / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from a recognised university.
  • Familiar with fundamentals of process safety engineering design and analysis.
