Job description

The Electrical Foreman will supervise and execute all electrical installation works for the data center construction project. This includes monitoring site activities, ensuring work quality, coordinating manpower, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the timely completion of all electrical works related to power systems, grounding, containment, cabling, and equipment installation.

Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Execution
  • Supervise day-to-day electrical installation works on the data center construction site.
  • Ensure proper installation of cable trays, conduits, grounding grids, earthing pits, and electrical containment.
  • Oversee installation of switchgear, LV/MV panels, PDUs, UPS systems, generators (coordination with vendor), and distribution boards.
  • Ensure all works comply with design drawings, specifications, and approved shop drawings.
2. Manpower & Work Planning
  • Allocate tasks to electricians and helpers; monitor productivity and work quality.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure they follow project standards.
  • Assist the engineer in planning daily/weekly activities and material requirements.
3. Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce strict adherence to site safety rules, electrical safety procedures, and LOTO.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure use of PPE by all team members.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and project safety guidelines.
4. Quality Control & Inspection
  • Conduct inspections before, during, and after installation.
  • Ensure installations are ready for consultant/QA/QC inspections.
  • Identify site issues and coordinate with the Electrical Engineer for resolution.
  • Monitor testing & commissioning preparations.
5. Material & Tools Management
  • Ensure material availability as per planned works.
  • Monitor usage of electrical materials and report shortages or issues.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
6. Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and IT/ELV teams to avoid site conflicts.
  • Provide daily progress updates to the Electrical Engineer/Construction Manager.
  • Report any delays, design issues, or manpower shortages promptly.
