Job Objective
The Financial Controller-Cost Control supports the Senior Manager cost control by implementing the financial policies and procedures in support of the various programs /project. Works collaboratively with various department managers to analyze costs, assess vendor relationships & maximize profitability. Leads and manages the cost accounting function to ensure that the financial recording of inventory and cost of sales transactions are posted correctly in the GL, as well as reporting the transactions with meaningful commentary, analysis and interpretation to the senior and exec management.
Key Accountabilities
- Works in conjunction with department heads to ensure maximum profitability
- Provides critical assessment of all budgets & cost projections
- Develops and enhance inventory processes and procedures
- Assesses all products & services to ensure the best price
- Analyzes invoices to ensure correct products /services are received at expected cost.
- Maintains vendor service provider relationships & keeps up to date on new vendors
- Develops & implements proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures
- Presents new and more effective strategies & assessments to management team by rolling out cost –saving program.
- Ensures accuracy of budget and forecasts & prepares timely availability of approved departmental budget
- Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Recommends benchmarks for measuring the financial & operating performance of the divisions & departments
- Prepares financial analysis for contract negotiations & product/service investment decisions
- Supervises/conducts the preparation of timely and accurate Audit Reports/other financial statements and reports of AMMROC to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
- Contributes to company financial strategy & decision-making process.
- Performs any other related duties or responsibilities as allocated by management from time to time
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- University degree in a financial or accounting discipline
- Fully qualified accounting professional (CPA/ CMA or equivalent)
- 7+ years of experience, including two years of experience in the relevant industry
- Understanding of financial policies and international accounting standards
- Knowledge of statutory and internal financial management standards
