Job Purpose

The Finance Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring the integrity of the chart of accounts, and supporting business units through timely and insightful financial reporting. The role exists to provide commercial and analytical support that strengthens financial stability, profitability, and long-term growth. It also involves overseeing accounting procedures, preparing and interpreting forecasts, budgets, and risk analyses to aid effective decision-making and compliance with Group standards.

Key Responsibilities / Result Areas
  1. Establish, review, and enhance financial policies, procedures, and management information systems to ensure alignment with EK Group requirements.
  2. Prepare accurate, timely, and insightful management reports, including KPIs and benchmarks, to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  3. Perform general ledger (GL) scrutiny and prepare technical accounting papers on key matters such as goodwill/PPE impairment, ECL, inventory valuation, and IFRS 16 assessments to ensure IFRS and Group policy compliance.
  4. Lead monthly and periodic book closures in coordination with accounting teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
  5. Periodically review the chart of accounts, business structures, and accounting processes to identify and implement opportunities for simplification, efficiency, and stronger internal controls.
  6. Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external entities to ensure timely resolution of critical financial and operational issues.
  7. Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve service delivery methods and procedures, assessing resource needs and collaborating with management to implement process enhancements.
  8. Contribute financial insights to strategic planning and operational reviews, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and recommending improvements in productivity, quality, and system efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor*s degree in accounting or commerce or equivalent from recognized university.
  • Mandatory professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA or ACCA).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in finance & account and audit.
  • Exposure of working with Big-4 audit highly preferred.
  • Advanced excel MS excel and PowerPoint.
