Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled BSS Engineer with hands-on Nokia experience to support the installation, configuration, and implementation of Nokia Base Station Subsystems (BSS) at telecom sites. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Nokia equipment, site integration, and end-to-end implementation activities, ensuring project delivery meets customer quality and timeline expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, and integration of Nokia BSS equipment (BTS, BSC, and related hardware/software).
- Carry out site implementation activities, including hardware mounting, cabling, power connections, and software configurations.
- Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT), integration testing, and troubleshooting to ensure network performance and stability.
- Coordinate with the RF, Transmission, and Core teams to ensure smooth site integration.
- Prepare and maintain installation reports, documentation, and as-built records.
- Ensure compliance with customer standards, health & safety policies, and quality requirements.
- Provide on-site support during critical implementations and escalations.
- Work closely with Nokia technical teams for issue resolution and configuration management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3-5 years experience in BSS installation and implementation with Nokia equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Nokia BTS/BSC hardware, software, and commissioning tools.
- Hands-on experience in integration, testing, and troubleshooting of telecom sites.
- Familiarity with transmission connectivity, RF basics, and site acceptance procedures.
- Ability to work independently in the field with strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and work in field/project site environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with 3G/4G/5G BSS implementation on Nokia platforms.
- Knowledge of IP networking, transmission protocols, and OSS systems.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
