The EA Tool Specialist is responsible for the design, configuration, administration, and continuous optimization of the Orbus iServer platform. The goal is to ensure the tool provides enterprise-wide visibility, supports architecture governance, and delivers high-quality data for strategic decision-making.
Technical Responsibilities
1. Development, Design & Data Management
- Platform Configuration: Customize Orbus iServer metamodels, viewpoints, and repositories to align with TOGAF and ArchiMate frameworks.
- Architecture Modeling: Design content structures across Business, Data, Application, and Technology (BDAT) domains.
- Reporting & Analytics: Produce executive-level reports, impact analysis, and roadmap visualizations to support investment decisions.
- Data Standards: Define and maintain architecture naming conventions, taxonomies, and data standards within the repository.
2. Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) & Optimization
- Full Lifecycle Oversight: Manage applications from requirements and design through deployment and decommissioning.
- Effort Optimization: Identify and mitigate technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and resource allocation risks.
- Integration Excellence: Support the integration of Orbus iServer with CMDB, BPM, DevOps, and Portfolio Management tools using APIs (REST, JSON, XML).
- Emerging Tech: Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance productivity and scalability.
3. Governance, Audit & Compliance
- Standards Enforcement: Ensure all EA artifacts comply with approved policies and reference architectures.
- Architecture Reviews: Provide insights from the tool to support the Architecture Review Board (ARB).
- Audit Readiness: Ensure development activities meet regulatory standards and prepare for internal/external audits.

Threshold Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Overall Experience: 8 years in IT or Architecture.
- Specialized Experience: 3 years of proven, hands-on experience administering and configuring Orbus iServer (including repository management and metamodel configuration).
- Frameworks: Strong hands-on exposure to TOGAF and ArchiMate applied in real-world environments.
Technical Skills
- Tooling: High proficiency in Orbus iServer (dashboards, viewpoints, customization) and Microsoft Visio.
- Development: Knowledge of .NET, Java, or scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Integration: Understanding of system integration patterns and APIs.
- Architecture: Mastery of design modeling across all enterprise layers.
Self-Management & Leadership
Plan and prioritize work to meet deliverables with minimal supervision.
Lead and mentor development teams, fostering a culture of innovation.
Guide and coach other architects and analysts on effective tool usage and EA standards.
Certifications: TOGAF 9.x/10 certification and Orbus iServer certification are highly preferred.
