The Electrician is responsible for working on electrical equipment in our IFZA office spaces, both existing and under construction, to install, repair and maintain power, lighting, communications, and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Executing plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Inspecting MDB, SMDB, ESMDB, ELCB, RCCB, panels, stand‑by generator, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures, equipment for alarm and safety, and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit‑breaker panels, etc.).
- Connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components.
- Reading technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Performing general electrical maintenance.
- Preventing breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
- Performing effective troubleshooting using appropriate testing devices to identify hazards or malfunctions, and repair or substitute damaged units.
- Following the National Electrical Code, and local building regulations.
- Maintaining good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems as well as various testing equipment. Maintain accurate records of materials, repairs, and modifications carried out.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management or project supervisors.
Requirements
- Diploma or ITI certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, wiring layouts control diagram and use testing instruments.
- Knowledge of UAE electrical codes and relevant safety standards (e.g. DEWA, SEWA, ADDC regulations).
- Skilled in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and temporary power systems.
- Proficient with tools such as multimeters, wire strippers, conduit benders, and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail, wiring neatness, and commitment to safe electrical practices.
- Basic English communication skills (spoken and written); other languages are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on electrical experience.
- Proven experience working on fit‑out sites, temporary installations, and event setups.
- Background in power distribution, lighting control, and safe cabling practices for indoor and outdoor environments.
- Familiarity with load balancing, circuit protection, and generator connection is a plus.
- Experience coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams (carpenters, lighting technicians, etc.).
- Ability to handle urgent repairs, fault diagnosis, and last‑minute adjustments under pressure.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments, including weekends.
