THE ACADEMY

GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School for PreK to Grade 12 students, established in 2008 as part of GEMS Education. THE ROLE

Our Early Years department has transformed student outcomes and succeeded in inspiring a love of learning at GEMS World Academy. The Early Years department is highly regarded among our student body for the care and personal support offered to students.

We welcome expressions of interest from passionate PYP Early Years practitioners who believe their skills, experience, and values align with GEMS World Academy’s commitment to inspiring a love of learning, with opportunities available from August 2026.

Skills

The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in effective teaching and helping students succeed. While experience in teaching the IB Primary Years Programmes (PYP) is preferred, outstanding teachers from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine passion for working in a non-selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement. Additionally, the candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Primary
• Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential
• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching Early Years, ideally within an IB curriculum school, however this is not mandatory
• A strong understanding of the IB PYP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• A strong desire to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students
• The experience, personality and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
