Job Brief

The Design & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing fire-fighting system designs and accurate cost estimates in accordance with NFPA standards and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code. The role supports tendering, technical submissions, and project coordination across commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Design fire-fighting systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pump rooms, FM-200, CO₂, and foam systems as per NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
• Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings, coordination layouts, hydraulic calculations, and all required technical documentation.
• Review project specifications and ensure proper system integration with MEP, architectural, and structural services.
• Conduct site assessments when required to validate design feasibility and project conditions.
• Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, and accurate cost estimates for tenders and quotations.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, ensure technical compliance, and recommend suitable materials.
• Support sales and project teams with technical clarifications, value engineering, and tender submissions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in the design and estimation of fire-fighting systems.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Experience in sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, suppression systems (FM-200 / CO₂ / foam), and fire-alarm interfaces.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of hydraulic calculation tools is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare compliant technical submissions, BOQs, and design documentation.
• Strong analytical, technical, and coordination skills.
