Your day at NTT DATA

As a Cyber Security & Network Security Engineer at NTT DATA, you’ll be at the center of designing, implementing, and safeguarding secure network infrastructures. Your day will involve proactively strengthening our defenses against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with leading security standards, and enhancing the organization’s overall security posture.

You’ll work across LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud, and hybrid environments—making sure every layer of the network is properly architected, secured, configured, and tested from end to end. Part of your daily routine will include continuously monitoring systems and networks for security breaches or suspicious activity, leveraging advanced tools and best practices to keep environments resilient.

Every day, you’ll dive into incident response activities, performing deep root‑cause analysis and implementing remediation measures to prevent recurrence. You’ll configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, endpoint security platforms, and other critical protective technologies. You’ll support ongoing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify gaps and strengthen security controls.

A key part of your work will be implementing and upholding security best practices—including frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS—while collaborating with IT, DevOps, and application teams to embed security by design into all technical initiatives. You’ll maintain meticulous documentation, support audit and compliance requirements, and ensure our security processes remain transparent and scalable.

As an experienced security professional, you’ll stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and tools, continuously recommending improvements to elevate our security posture. Whether securing cloud workloads, contributing to automation initiatives, or optimizing how we defend our infrastructure, your expertise will play a critical role in protecting our clients and systems.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you need to have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and switching.
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools.
• Experience working with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and security testing tools.
• Solid understanding of cloud and container security concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
