Job summary

A leading catering and hospitality service provider in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Food Hygiene Officer to oversee food safety management across various outlets. The role includes supervising food hygiene processes, coordinating with management for audits, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Candidates should have a diploma in Food Science and at least 2 years of experience in a similar field, preferably within hospitality or food manufacturing. The job requires occasional travel for external events and audits.

Qualifications

  • Diploma level qualification in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology or Life Sciences is required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Food Safety/Quality within hospitality or food manufacturing industries.
  • Level 2 Training in Food Hygiene and Safety is mandatory.

Job description
  • Support the Food Hygiene and Safety Management in developing cost effective and user friendly Food hygiene and safety innovations within CPK, LPK and all food & beverage outlets in order to maintain the market leader position in Food Hygiene and Safety Standards.
  • Coordinate between the internal departments on maintaining the required Statutory i.e. Dubai Municipality and ADAFSA documents requirement in order to ensure the Legal compliance.
  • Supervise the food hygiene and safety throughout the production and operation, from Purchasing, Receiving, Sanitation and Production until Consumption to ensure the food hygiene and safety standards in order to produce safe food to avoid any food poisoning cases throughout the year.
  • Support the Food hygiene and Safety Management in Suppliers audit by coordinating through the Purchase Department and also conduct Supplier audits as and when required based on the Management requirement
  • Ensure the Mass Catering is sent to Dubai Municipality prior to the Event for Legal compliance
  • Maintain the records for Occupational Health card for all Food Handlers in coordination with HR department
  • Handle all Food Safety related Customer complaints, investigate with the guidance from Management and submit the report from the Management to update in customer complaints logs
  • Periodic Internal Calibration of Kitchen Equipment, chiller, Freezers and Thermometers to satisfy the HACCP / ISO 22000 requirement
  • Support the Hygiene Management in all Food Hygiene and Safety Internal Trainings. Conduct fortnight on the job training based on the Internal Audit findings
  • Mostly Office based and Kitchen based job however this job role may require to work longer hours on computer sometimes
  • Requires covering the external food and beverage outlets such as Community Development centres, Za’abeel Ladies Club, Lisialli Wedding Hall and Supplier audits and hence a travelling is inevitable in this job role
  • This job role is expected to work in major external events such as F1, Airshow, MEBA both inside and outdoor and expected to work for outside catering events such as Weddings and Banquets events in all the 7 Emirates
Formal Education
  • Diploma level qualification in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology or Life Sciences is a must. University Degree (B.Sc / B.Tech) in Food Hygiene or Food Technology or Microbiology is an added advantage
Work Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Food Safety / Quality related field in 5* Hotel Industries, Hospitality industries or food manufacturing industries or Catering industries in similar position.
  • Experience in a Convention and Exhibition Centre in a similar role is preferred
  • Working knowledge in using computer in MS Office (emails, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), any online Audit system experience is preferable
  • Level 2 Training in Food Hygiene and Safety
  • Level 3 Training in Food Hygiene and Safety preferable
  • Advanced Food Hygiene - Level 4 Training is an added advantage
  • HACCP / ISO 22000 Trainings preferable
  • Internal HACCP Auditor’s Training is preferable
