Job Purpose
The Contract Manager is responsible for managing all contractual and commercial activities across large-scale infrastructure projects. This role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements while providing guidance and support to project teams throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of assigned projects.
- Develop and maintain standardised contract templates and clauses.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Administer contract variations, claims, extensions of time, and cost-control measures.
- Provide contractual advice and guidance to project teams at all stages of the project.
- Coordinate with legal, procurement, and project management teams to resolve contractual issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contract documents, amendments, correspondence, variations, claims, and disputes.
- Proactively manage contract renewals, expirations, and terminations to mitigate operational and commercial risks.
- Prepare periodic contract status reports, including budget control and cost tracking.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, operational, and legal risks associated with contracts.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to reduce contract‑related exposure.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as the primary point of contact for contract‑related matters.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Degree or diploma in commercial management, law, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in contract management.
Preferable
- Experience with FIDIC contracts.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience handling claims and settlements.
- Strong communication skills.
