WFP owns leases and globally operates more than 1,400 trucks of different configurations, trailers and workshop facilities throughout 28 Country Offices (COs). The WFP fleet is deployed to fill critical gaps in local transport capacity and stabilise transport rates in the event of increased insecurity and/or sudden growth in demand as well as pioneer new routes that due to prevailing insecurity would remain inaccessible to local transporters. The Global Fleet unit provides a range of fleet services such as the managing of a corporate fleet management- and vehicle tracking systems.
The FMS data analyst supports the administering of the system platform, provides on‑ and off‑site user support, analyses FMS data and prepares KPI reports and supports in the implementation of system developments.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all‑inclusive)
Under the general supervision of the Global Fleet Dubai Hub Manager the incumbent shall perform the following duties:
- Analyse FMS data consistency, completeness and correctness;
- Undertake process review to increase FMS data quality liaising with the FMS Administrator;
- Reconcile data from the Fleet Management System (FMS), Global Positioning System (GPS satellite tracking for vehicles) and other sources to produce timely and correct data for reports;
- Prepare easily readable and accurate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data reports for management and client countries scheduled and required on a regular basis;
- Ameliorate data analyses by automatization of repetitive processes using appropriate formulas and SQL in Excel and in other applications;
- Provide on‑ and off‑site FMS training for the users globally;
- Perform unit and integrated testing of new enhanced or fixed code to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications;
- Assist in the release of IT applications and provide early‑life support to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution;
- Occasionally review and update the system manuals;
- Assist Hub Manager and FMS Administrator on day‑to‑day activities;
- Perform other duties as required.
Advanced university degree in business administration, engineering, data science, supply chain or similar field.
Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in data management, business analytics and system design.
Experience in administering a fleet management system;
Good analytical ability to compile, maintain and analyze data;
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Excellent project management, communications and organisational skills;
Ability to work in a multicultural team environment;
Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds;
Understanding of WFPs logistics practices is considered an advantage.
Proficiency in English and intermediate knowledge of another official UN language.
