Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance and system audits to assess project compliance.
  • Identify follow-up corrective actions to close audit findings.
  • Provide technical assistance on HSE compliance projects.
  • Develop HSE compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
  • Design and implement HSE management systems for clients.
  • Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with ERM employees.
Job description

ERM is seeking an EHS Consultant / Senior Consultant (or similar level of experience) with a background of performing compliance audits and supporting clients with ESG due diligence to join our growing team in the Middle East.

Our clients are under increasing pressure to manage and improve their environmental, health & safety (‘EHS’) performance and reduce operational risk. Our Safe & Sustainable Operations team helps clients respond to these demands and we help clients turn EHS activities from a necessary cost to a value creator.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in safety, human performance, human factors or ergonomics and enjoy working with clients and supporting consultant teams to deliver complex projects.

If you have the technical skills and are motivated by an opportunity to provide technical leadership in this area, to deliver fascinating projects or contribute to commercial growth through business development activities, this would be the right role for you.

We will be looking for applicants to demonstrate their experience in a variety of audit types including compliance audits, management system audits, supply chain audits, performance-enhancing audits & technical audits as well as Due Diligence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform compliance and system audits to assess project compliance with applicable health and safety or environmental regulatory requirements, corporate standards, or management systems.

  • Identify follow-up corrective actions to close audit findings. .

  • Provide technical assistance on HSE compliance and HSE management system projects

  • Develop HSE compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.

  • Design and implement HSE management systems and programmes for clients.

  • Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

  • Support ERM Partners and other Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.

  • Effectively steward and build client relationships leading to repeat business.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees

Desired:

  • Masters level qualifications in related subjects or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)

  • Arabic language skills

  • Registered or Chartered membership status in a related institution

  • Strong experience in high-hazard sectors, such as mining or oil & gas, chemical

  • Be passionate about safety performance improvement and have substantial experience developing and delivering world-class EHS program solutions and supporting implementation
