Scope of Work: The Compliance & Tax Manager is responsible for managing the full spectrum of UAE Corporate Tax (CT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance across all legal entities. This includes tax planning, advisory support, monitoring regulatory changes, reviewing tax treatments in accordance with UAE tax laws and IFRS standards, preparation and filing of tax returns, and ensuring alignment with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements. The role also oversees internal controls, tax risk management, compliance reporting, and supporting audits (internal, external & FTA).
Corporate Tax (CT)
- Ensure full compliance with UAE Corporate Tax legislation across all entities.
- Manage CT registrations, deregistration, grouping, and relief claims (e.g., business restructuring, exempt income, small business relief, transfer pricing, transitional rules, etc.).
- Review tax calculation workings, deferred tax computations, and tax disclosures in financial statements.
- Oversee CT return preparation and filing, tax payments, and refunds.
- Lead transitional relief valuation projects and coordinate with external valuation consultants.
- Support implementation of transfer pricing documentation (Master File, Local File, benchmarking).
- Manage responses to FTA queries, clarifications, and tax audits.
VAT
- Ensure timely VAT return filing, VAT reconciliation, recovery assessment, and compliance with FTA VAT regulations.
- Oversee VAT refund requests, VAT audits, and VAT advisory on complex transactions.
- Review the VAT treatment of contracts, invoices, credit notes, discounts, commissions, escrow transactions, and intercompany transactions.
Compliance & Governance
- Maintain tax registers, compliance trackers, and documentation audit trails.
- Monitor laws, regulations, updates and advise management on tax impact and policy changes.
- Support external audits, internal audits, and agreed‑upon procedures (AUP) work.
Responsibilities & Authorities
- Authorized to liaise with FTA, tax advisors, auditors, and government bodies.
- Authorized to validate tax treatments before posting or payments.
- Recommend process improvements and tax planning opportunities.
- Escalate tax exposures and compliance risks to CFO / Finance Director.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance.
- Master’s degree or CPA / ACCA preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in Tax & Compliance, including UAE CT/VAT exposure.
Skills
- Strong understanding of UAE Corporate Tax & VAT, IFRS knowledge, audit experience, analytical & reporting skills.
