Automotive Controls Systems Engineer
Design and develop complex automotive controls systems considering human and equipment interactions. Implement communication between controllers and HMI using Raw CAN and J1939 protocols.
Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of automotive controls systems for complex logic applications.
- Develop a strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes including robotics, conveyors, and assembly lines.
- Implement electrical control systems including hardware selection, panel layout, and wiring schematics tailored to automotive production lines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and automation issues in a fast‑paced automotive environment.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, robotics, and manufacturing) to integrate PLC programs with other automated systems.
- Perform modifications and upgrades to existing PLC programs and control systems to optimize performance and meet new production requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing and simulation of PLC programs to validate functionality and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field providing a strong foundation in electrical principles.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of experience in PLC programming within the automotive industry showcasing practical application.
- Display a solid understanding of automotive manufacturing processes highlighting industry‑specific expertise.
- Experience in CODESYS is mandatory.
- Exhibit strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills capable of diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and automation issues.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Show a proactive and detail‑oriented approach to work ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
- Have the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
