Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Underwriter in the insurance industry. The Assistant Underwriter plays a pivotal role in the evaluation and analysis of insurance applications to ensure that they meet the company's underwriting criteria and standards. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of underwriting processes and the ability to analyze risk factors associated with various insurance policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify insurance applications and related documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Gather and analyze relevant data to support risk assessment and decision-making.
  • Assist underwriters in preparing quotes, endorsements, and policy renewals.
  • Maintain organized records of underwriting files and correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with brokers, clients, and internal departments to clarify information and resolve issues.
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements and company underwriting guidelines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the underwriting process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience or internship in insurance underwriting or a related area is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with insurance terminology and basic underwriting principles is a plus.
