Job description
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MSE (MULTIPLE TRACKS)

The Department of Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship (MS&E) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applicants for full‑time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank across three tracks:

  • Organizational Behavior (and Human Resource Management): Priority will be given to candidates with primary teaching and research expertise in organizational behavior, such as theories of management and organizational behavior, management and leadership development, group dynamics and team processes, and conflict management. Ability to teach courses in human resource management (e.g., strategic HRM, people analytics, and training and development) will be considered a plus.
  • Strategy and Entrepreneurship: Priority will be given to candidates with primary teaching and research expertise in organizational policy and strategy, global strategy, competitive analysis, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, business venture, innovation management and strategic change.
  • Strategy and Corporate Governance: Priority will be given to candidates with primary teaching and research expertise in strategic management and corporate governance, such as organizational policy and strategy, global strategy, competitive analysis, executive compensation, ownership structures, boards of directors, and corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

The successful candidates are expected to contribute to the department’s research, teaching and service. The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and tax‑free in the UAE. Free housing, paid utilities and other attractive benefits are provided.

Job Qualifications

All candidates must have a PhD in Management from an AACSB‑accredited university. An ABD near completion will be considered. Candidates must show great research potential, with promising working papers ideally on track to publication in top‑tier management journals. Existing publications in top‑tier management journals are a plus. Successful candidates should be willing and able to teach across the curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (MBA and PhD).

The Department of MS&E comprises a diverse group of 17 full‑time faculty members from 16 countries and is gender balanced. Faculty are specialists and researchers in a broad variety of management topics. Their research has been published in leading management journals, including the Academy of Management Annals, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Knowledge Management, and is regularly presented at leading scholarly conferences in the field.
