Job description
Role Purpose:

To assist in the management and support of IT assets, ensuring their availability, functionality, and compliance with organizational standards.

Key Activities:
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware.
  • Utilize asset management tools and systems to track the status, location, and ownership of each asset.
  • Conduct regular audits of IT assets to ensure accuracy and compliance with inventory records.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for users experiencing issues with IT assets, providing timely and effective support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, escalating more complex issues to higher-level support teams as necessary.
  • Document all support interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system to maintain a record of issues and solutions.
  • Assist in the incident management process by logging incidents related to IT assets in the incident tracking system.
  • Monitor the status of reported incidents and ensure they are addressed within established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to coordinate responses to incidents that affect multiple assets or systems.
  • Participate in the execution of data backup procedures to ensure that critical data is regularly backed up and can be restored when needed.
  • Assist in the restoration of data from backups in the event of data loss or system failure, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist in the configuration and setup of new IT assets, ensuring they are properly installed and configured according to organizational standards.
  • Support the deployment of software applications and updates to IT assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and security policies.
  • Maintain documentation of asset configurations, including hardware specifications and software installations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to IT assets, including user manuals, installation guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure that all documentation is easily accessible to team members and users, facilitating efficient support and management of IT assets.
  • Update documentation regularly to reflect changes in asset configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Work closely with other IT support staff and departments to ensure effective communication regarding IT asset management and support activities.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss asset management strategies, challenges, and improvements.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for enhancing IT asset support processes and practices.
  • Assist in training new employees on the proper use and management of IT assets, including hardware and software.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to users regarding best practices for utilizing IT assets effectively and securely.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in database and system administration
