Job Overview
The ARC Welder will be responsible for performing welding operations using Arc welding techniques to join metal components for industrial, construction, and fabrication projects. The role requires strong knowledge of welding processes, ability to interpret technical drawings, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in welding steel structures, pipes, frames, and other metallic components with precision and durability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Arc welding (SMAW/MMAW) operations as per project specifications and welding procedures.
- Read, understand, and interpret welding blueprints, sketches, and fabrication drawings.
- Prepare welding materials by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and aligning components before welding.
- Weld, repair, and fabricate structural steel, pipes, and metal parts using welding equipment and tools.
- Conduct visual inspection of weld joints to ensure compliance with quality and dimensional standards.
- Ensure correct electrode selection, current settings, and welding parameters for assigned tasks.
- Perform grinding, chipping, and finishing of welds to meet required standards.
- Maintain welding tools, equipment, and workstations in proper condition.
- Follow safety protocols including usage of PPE and adherence to workplace safety rules.
- Coordinate with fabricators, supervisors, and engineers for timely completion of assigned tasks.
Essential Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Welding or equivalent vocational training.
- Minimum 2–4 years of proven experience as an ARC Welder in construction, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Certification in welding (SMAW / MMAW) is an added advantage.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Good understanding of welding quality standards and inspection procedures.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in ARC welding techniques (SMAW/MMAW).
- Strong knowledge of metal properties, weld defects, and corrective methods.
- Ability to operate welding tools, grinders, and related machinery.
- Attention to detail with high precision in welding joints and finishing.
- Good physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
- Understanding of safety procedures in welding environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
