Job summary

A leading HVAC company based in the UAE is seeking an experienced application engineer to provide technical support to the sales team, prepare HVAC layouts, and assist in equipment selection. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 3-6 years of experience in HVAC application engineering within the UAE/GCC market. Proficiency in AutoCAD and a strong understanding of HVAC principles are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in HVAC application engineering and drafting, preferably with HVAC Supplier in the UAE/GCC market.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE and SMACNA standards preferred.
• Good command of English communication (written and spoken).

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to the sales team for HVAC equipment selection, system design, and proposal preparation.
• Prepare and develop HVAC layouts, schematics, and shop drawings using AutoCAD (and Revit if required).
• Assist in equipment sizing and selection (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF, DX units, pumps, etc.) using manufacturer software or selection tools.
• Review project specifications, tender documents, and consultant requirements to ensure technical compliance.
• Prepare technical submittals, equipment schedules, and compliance statements for client/consultant approval.
• Coordinate with sales engineers and project teams to provide accurate and timely design documentation.
• Support preparation of BOQs, quotations, and design calculations as required.
• Maintain an updated library of product data sheets, drawings, and selection tools.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation adhere to company and project standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of experience in HVAC application engineering and drafting (preferred to be with HVAC Supplier) within the UAE/GCC market-
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of HVAC design principles, equipment selection, and system layout.
• Familiarity with chilled water, VRF, and DX systems.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE and SMACNA standards preferred.
• Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Good command of English communication (written and spoken).
