The role supports FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, PMC, and brownfield projects, ensuring compliance with international standards, regional regulations, and client specifications typical of oil & gas, petrochemical, steel, mining, and industrial gas sectors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and execute electrical engineering activities for ASU plants, including air compression, purification, cold box, cryogenic distillation, storage, and product distribution systems.
  • Develop and review electrical design deliverables such as load lists, single line diagrams (SLD), power distribution philosophies, cable sizing and routing, lighting layouts, grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Design and review MV/LV power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, UPS, battery systems, and emergency power supplies.
  • Prepare and check electrical equipment datasheets for motors, VFDs, soft starters, transformers, switchgear, and electrical auxiliaries suitable for cryogenic and oxygen service.
  • Review electrical interfaces with packaged ASU units including compressors, expanders, cold boxes, analyzers, and cryogenic pumps.
  • Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with DCS, PLC, SIS, and plant automation systems.
  • Perform electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection coordination, arc flash, and harmonic analysis.
  • Develop and review hazardous area classification drawings and ensure electrical equipment compliance with area classifications.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, and QRA studies from an electrical discipline perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API, ATEX, IECEx, ISO, and Middle East client standards (Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, PDO, QP, SABIC, Maaden).
  • Ensure electrical designs meet oxygen service requirements, low-temperature operating conditions, and high reliability standards.
  • Review vendor and licensor documentation from industrial gas licensors.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations, vendor clarifications, and technical alignment meetings.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for compressors, motors, VFDs, expanders, substations, and packaged systems.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, energization, and performance testing activities.
  • Interface with process, instrumentation, mechanical, civil, and commissioning teams.
  • Support construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities at site.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for plant operation, reliability improvement, and debottlenecking.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet project schedules, quality requirements, and client milestones.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 8–15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years on ASU or industrial gas projects.
  • Strong experience working on Middle East EPC / PMC projects.
  • Experience with brownfield modifications and live plant tie‑ins is highly desirable.
  • Hands‑on experience with MV/LV systems, motors, VFDs, substations, and power distribution networks.
  • In‑depth knowledge of electrical systems for cryogenic and oxygen service applications.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area requirements and explosion‑proof electrical design.
  • Familiarity with electrical studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of Middle East project execution practices and documentation workflows.
  • Willingness to work at remote project sites under Middle East conditions.
  • Knowledge of local work permits, site safety practices, and construction norms is an advantage.
  • Previous experience on projects in Saudi Arabia or UAE.
