Job description
THE OPPORTUNITY

The Government Communications Department seeks an Administrative Officer who will be responsible for providing efficient and proactive administrative and operational support to the Department. The role ensures smooth daily operations, effective coordination across units, timely execution of tasks and adherence to university processes and standards.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general departmental inquiries and communications.
  • Manage documentation, correspondence, digital filing systems and departmental records.
  • Liaise with central university departments (e.g. Finance, Procurement, IT, Facilities, HR) to facilitate workflows and resolve administrative matters.
  • Monitor and track departmental budget expenditures and support procurement activities.
  • Oversee logistical arrangements for departmental events, meetings and official visits.
  • Maintain calendars, schedules and task lists for the department.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of operational projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure proper handling of office supplies, assets and inventory management.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of administrative procedures and tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Should possess a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience and a Bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, skill or experience.
  • High degree of computer competency using email, Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), web-based tools.
  • Native language ability in Arabic & English with excellent business writing, proofreading and editing skills.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience working in an academic environment.
  • Ability to travel between Abu Dhabi & Dubai.
  • Familiarity in dealing with male students.
  • Flexibility with work timings.
