Senior / Principal Project Manager – Aircraft Development

INCOMAR, based in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa, is seeking a motivated Senior or Principal Project Manager to join our aerospace and defence company. We specialize in product development and flight operations, with a history rooted in military aircraft weapons, avionics integration, and flight testing.

The ideal candidate will be part of a team across Projects, Engineering, and Flight Operations, managing aircraft and avionics development projects. This role involves leading and mentoring junior project managers.

• Applicable Bachelor's Degree or Technical Qualification; a Bachelor's in Aeronautical Engineering is preferred.

• 10+ years in aerospace/aircraft/avionics project environments.
• Experience in aircraft systems development projects.
• Proven technical management and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of project management tools, methodologies, budgeting, risk, and change management.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

• Ensure timely, within scope and budget delivery of tasks.
• Participate in planning, monitoring, and reporting project progress.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Manage risks, resources, and vendor relationships.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate project team members.
• Report issues and ensure adherence to quality standards.

This position is classified as Mid-Senior level, with employment being other than full-time. The role falls under Project Management and Information Technology within the Defense and Space Manufacturing industry.
