Job summary
A luxury hospitality group in Cape Town is seeking a Porter to ensure exceptional guest service and manage luggage services. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a focus on customer service in a luxury environment, and relevant qualifications like First Aid Level 1. Responsibilities include assisting guests with their luggage and ensuring safety protocols. This role requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of property and company procedures.
- First Aid Level 1 and Basic Fire Fighting qualification.
- Experience in luxury customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide luggage services as directed.
- Report maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist monitoring telephone calls.
Skills
Education
The Porter is to provide porterage services, following the property and company procedures for guest service and maximum safety and security, communicating any hazards to Management immediately.
- Provide luggage services as directed and required.
- Report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain contact with the other Porter and/or Security team members at all times and as required.
- Assist with monitoring telephone calls to the property’s switchboard if required.
- Perform wake up calls and luggage services as required.
- Maintain all issued equipment as directed and report any faults and defects to Management immediately.
- Assist with Night Porter duties as trained and required
- Sound knowledge of the applicable / relevant property and company procedures for the department, with specific focus on Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety.
- First Aid Level 1 and Basic Fire Fighting qualification.
- Experience with the highest level of customer service in a luxury environment.
- In depth knowledge of all cleaning products used.
- Knowledge on the operation of in-room equipment and appliances.
- Knowledge of all MORE properties and all activities offered.
- Knowledge of all departments/operations of your property.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Guest focus philosophy, living the MORE brand and driving the MORE experience.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), practicing honest communication.
- Team player with positive attitude, enthusiasm, and emotional control.
