Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Sports Event Coordinator to join their Centurion team. The role covers planning, execution, and post-event analysis of sporting events, from local tournaments to larger community competitions, with a hybrid mix of on-site management and remote planning.

You will work with sponsors, athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers to deliver seamless events, manage budgets and vendors, and develop promotional materials to drive participation and attendance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably within the sports or leisure industry.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage all logistical aspects of sports events, including venue booking, equipment procurement, and scheduling.
• Coordinate with stakeholders such as athletes, coaches, officials, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure smooth event operations.
• Develop marketing and promotional materials to drive participation and attendance for events in Centurion .
• Oversee on-site event execution, managing staff and volunteers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring participant safety.
• Manage event budgets, track expenses, and negotiate with vendors for services and supplies.
• Conduct post-event evaluations, gathering feedback to improve future events.
