Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Event Logistics Manager to oversee the planning and execution of major sporting events around Centurion. This hybrid role combines on-site coordination with remote strategy to ensure seamless delivery from concept to completion.

You will manage venues, transportation, accommodation, suppliers, and budgets, while ensuring safety and compliance in a high‑pressure Leisure & Sports environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in event management with logistics focus.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Calm under pressure with good decision-making.
• Familiarity with event management software.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Event Logistics Manager to oversee the operational planning and execution of major sporting events in and around Centurion. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site coordination and remote strategic planning, ensuring seamless delivery of events from conception to completion. You will be responsible for all logistical aspects, including venue management, transportation, accommodation, and supplier coordination. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in event management, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in dynamic, high-pressure situations typical of the Leisure & Sports industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute all logistical elements for sporting events, including venue setup, staffing, and breakdown.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of services and equipment.
• Oversee transportation and accommodation arrangements for athletes, staff, and VIPs.
• Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability.
• Coordinate with event security, medical teams, and emergency services to ensure safety and compliance.
• Create detailed operational plans, timelines, and risk assessments for each event.

Requirements
