Placements24 is seeking a diligent Compliance Officer for a fully remote role in the financial services sector. You will ensure adherence to FICA, POPIA, AML/CFT, and internal policies while supporting risk management and regulatory reporting.

The successful candidate will have at least five years in compliance, a law/finance/business admin degree, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant financial regulations (e.g., FICA, POPIA, AML/CFT).
• Experience in conducting compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret relevant financial services regulations and legislation.
• Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular compliance training for employees across all departments.
• Perform internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches.
• Investigate and report on any suspected compliance violations.
• Advise management on compliance risks and strategies for mitigation.
