Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Compliance Officer to join their fully remote legal and compliance team. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to financial regulations, developing, implementing, and monitoring programs, and guiding regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least four years in compliance within financial services, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 4+ years in a compliance role within financial services.
• Knowledge of local and international financial regulations (e.g., FICA, POPIA, AML, KYC).
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and audits.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on operations.
• Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify gaps.
• Investigate and resolve breaches and prepare reports.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.
