Job summary

Placements24 seeks a meticulous Senior Compliance Officer to join a fully remote South Africa team. You will develop, implement, and oversee the company's compliance programs across FAIS, FICA, and POPIA, guiding risk assessments and policy updates.

You will lead training, audits, and liaison with regulators and external auditors, ensuring adherence to laws and internal policies while supporting a remote-first culture of integrity and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in compliance or regulatory role within financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of SA regulations (FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update policies and training materials accordingly.
• Investigate compliance issues, perform internal audits, and manage corrective actions.
• Design and deliver compliance training for employees at all levels.
• Act as primary contact for regulators and external auditors.
