Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a respected financial services provider in recruiting a Senior Compliance Officer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to FICA, POPIA, and Companies Act requirements.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of regulatory experience, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to communicate complex regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Law/Finance/Business Administration or related field.
• Advanced qualifications in compliance or risk management are advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role within financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of FICA, POPIA, Companies Act and compliance best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance program and policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organization's operations.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues, reporting findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs across all departments.
• Advise business units on compliance-related matters and provide guidance on regulatory interpretations.
• Ensure the accurate and timely submission of regulatory filings and reports.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practices.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Promote a strong compliance culture throughout the organization.
