Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for a remote-first role in the South African insurance sector. You will develop and monitor compliance programs and advise management on regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in compliance or legal roles, deep knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in compliance or legal roles.
• In-depth knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POPIA regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's compliance program for the insurance sector.
• Monitor adherence to legislation and regulatory requirements (FAIS, FICA, POPIA) and internal policies.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance on compliance-related matters.
• Stay updated with changes in insurance regulations and advise management.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
• Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
