About the Role

Our client, a key player in the telecommunications infrastructure space, is seeking a vigilant and experienced Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their monitoring and support team. This hybrid role, centered in Sandton, Gauteng, is responsible for the real-time surveillance, analysis, and resolution of network incidents impacting our client's critical services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network monitoring tools, incident management processes, and a strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues swiftly. You will be crucial in maintaining the high availability and performance of our networks, ensuring uninterrupted service for our customers. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using advanced NOC tools and dashboards.
• Identify, diagnose, and prioritize network incidents and outages.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting and resolution of network issues, escalating complex problems to appropriate engineering teams.
• Coordinate incident response activities and manage communication with affected parties during outages.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of NOC procedures and runbooks.
• Proactively identify potential network issues and recommend preventative measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar network monitoring role.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network architectures.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog).
• Experience with incident management and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and collaboration.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure during critical incidents.
• Experience in a hybrid work model, understanding the balance between remote monitoring and team collaboration.
• Must be located in or able to commute to Sandton, Gauteng.
