Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their remote team supporting Upington, Northern Cape. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to incidents 24/7 to ensure high network availability for telecom services.

The role requires 2+ years in NOC or similar, solid TCP/IP knowledge, experience with SolarWinds, PRTG or Nagios, and ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IT or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in a Network Operations Center or similar technical support role.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network topologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG or Nagios.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident management processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using NOC tools and dashboards.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues, escalate to senior engineers when needed.
• Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform initial troubleshooting for connectivity, performance, and hardware issues.
• Document all network events, actions taken and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Maintain records of network configuration changes and system status.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure seamless network operations.
• Participate in shift rotations for continuous monitoring and support.

About the Role

Our client, a major telecommunications operator, is seeking a vigilant and technically adept Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their remote team, supporting operations in Upington, Northern Cape . This role is crucial for monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting the company's network infrastructure 24/7. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network protocols, experience with monitoring tools, and the ability to respond effectively to network incidents.
