About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Telecoms Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their critical infrastructure team in Centurion . This role is essential for monitoring the health and performance of our extensive telecommunications network, ensuring continuous service delivery and rapid response to any incidents. You will be at the forefront of network surveillance, utilizing advanced tools to detect, diagnose, and resolve issues before they impact our customers. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who excels under pressure and wishes to contribute to the stability and efficiency of a major telecom provider in the dynamic Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively monitor network traffic, system performance, and service availability using sophisticated NOC monitoring tools .
• Detect, diagnose, and elevate network incidents and outages according to defined procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Perform initial troubleshooting and resolution of network alarms and performance degradations, coordinating with field engineers and other support teams.
• Maintain accurate records of all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Generate regular performance reports and provide insights into network trends and potential issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for network operations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a NOC environment or technical support role within the telecommunications sector.
• Familiarity with network monitoring software (e.g., PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and ticketing systems.
• Understanding of telecom network concepts, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, and various transmission technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear reporting and coordination with diverse teams.
