Job summary

Switch Recruit (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly organized Sales Operations Coordinator in Cape Town to support the district sales team, maintain CRM data integrity, and coordinate new customer transitions from award to implementation.

The role combines sales operations with project coordination, requiring strong stakeholder communication and a hands-on, proactive attitude. Local travel and collaboration with regional teams are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in freight forwarding/ logistics or similar role.
• Four-year tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence and own transport for local travel.
• Strong systems, AI and IT exposure.
• Understanding of freight forwarding and customs brokerage operations.
• Experience in project coordination, business transitions or implementation.
• Knowledge of supply chain solutions and operational processes.
• Ability to document business processes and workflows.
• Familiarity with EDI and its application.

Responsibilities

• Support and attend weekly district sales meetings.
• Manage and distribute sales leads and monitor follow-up activities.
• Coordinate sales training sessions and arrange customer visits and meeting schedules.
• Monitor CRM data integrity, sales activity and deadlines.
• Prepare regular sales reports with reliable data.
• Act as district's local expert on sales enablement tools.
• Coordinate bid submissions including executive summaries and formatting.
• Coordinate and facilitate customer-facing district events and analyze survey feedback.
• Support local marketing initiatives and ensure branding compliance.
• Coordinate targeted marketing campaigns and regional newsletters.
• Plan and manage new customer transitions from award to implementation.
• Define project scope and timelines; coordinate requirements.
• Manage transition resources, schedules, deliverables and quality.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including customers, sales, operations, analysts, product teams, IS.
• Communicate requirements, progress and updates to stakeholders.
• Document business processes and implement operational procedures.
• Identify risks, resolve issues and ensure successful onboarding of new business.
• Act as primary contact for customers, sales teams, management and operations during transitions.
• Facilitate service reviews and handover to branch operations.
• Work with Regional Sales Operations and GEO Sales Operations on business development.
• Attend training sessions and undertake additional assignments.
