Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic player in the Leisure & Sports industry, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Sports Event Coordinator to manage and execute various sporting events and activations from a distance. This is a fully remote position, requiring a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to coordinate complex logistics. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating a wide range of sports-related events, ensuring a seamless experience for participants and stakeholders, regardless of geographical location. The ideal candidate will thrive in a virtual environment, demonstrating strong communication and project management abilities, and possess a passion for the sports industry, specifically within the Eastern Cape region. This role offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on our event success.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of sports events, including tournaments, workshops, and community sports days.
• Manage all logistical aspects of events remotely, including venue liaison, vendor coordination, and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain detailed event project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate communication with participants, stakeholders, sponsors, and volunteers.
• Ensure all event activities comply with relevant regulations, safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
• Oversee registration processes, participant management, and on-site (or virtual) event support.
• Conduct post-event analysis, gather feedback, and prepare comprehensive reports on event outcomes.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of event trends and best practices within the Leisure & Sports sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event coordination or management, with a strong focus on sports events.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote work setting.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and tools (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite) and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
• Passion for the Leisure & Sports industry.
• Experience or familiarity with the sports community in Port Elizabeth is beneficial.
