Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote NOC Analyst to monitor and respond to network incidents across our client's national infrastructure from anywhere in South Africa. You will use Nagios, Zabbix, and SolarWinds to detect alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate to Level 2/3 when needed.

• 1–3 years of NOC or network monitoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using NOC tools and platforms.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve network incidents and outages promptly.
• Respond to network alarms with initial troubleshooting and escalation as needed.
• Document all network events, actions taken and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with Level 2 and Level 3 support teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform routine network health checks and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network infrastructure, services and technologies.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of NOC procedures and best practices.

About the Role

Our client, a leading telecommunications company, is expanding its Network Operations Center (NOC) and seeking a highly motivated and skilled Remote Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to network alerts and incidents across our client's national infrastructure. Your primary goal will be to ensure the continuous availability, performance, and security of the network. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. You will be a crucial part of our client's 24/7 operations, contributing to the seamless delivery of telecommunication services.

Key Responsibilities

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and ticketing systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise reporting.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 operations team.
• A stable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace are mandatory for this remote role.
• Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a strong advantage.
• Experience with specific telecom technologies (e.g., MPLS, DWDM) is a plus.
