About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and technically adept Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their team, serving the Richards Bay area with a hybrid work arrangement. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring the health and performance of our client's telecommunications network 24/7, identifying and responding to incidents, and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery. You will act as the first line of defense against network outages and performance degradation, working collaboratively with field technicians and engineers to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently. This position requires excellent analytical skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining network integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated monitoring tools and systems.
• Identify, diagnose, and respond to network incidents and alerts in a timely manner.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams, providing detailed diagnostic information.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Perform regular system health checks and preventative maintenance tasks on network devices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment or similar monitoring role.
• Solid understanding of telecom network components, protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP), and common issues.
• Experience with network monitoring software (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating schedule.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and providing status updates.
