Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join our surveillance team in Welkom, Free State. You will monitor the health and performance of the telecoms network, respond to alarms, and help maintain uninterrupted services.

The role requires knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and experience with SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix. You will work in shifts, document incidents, and collaborate with field engineers in a dynamic, 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
• Willingness to work nights and weekends in a 24/7 team.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills in high-pressure situations.
• Clear written and verbal communication for reporting and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using NOC tools, identifying potential issues proactively.
• Respond to network alarms and diagnose faults in real time.
• Escalate critical incidents to appropriate technical teams and ensure timely resolution.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Perform regular system checks and preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated NOC tools, identifying potential issues proactively.
