Job summary

Our client, a growing insurance provider, seeks dedicated, customer-focused individuals for Remote Claims Handlers in the Motor division. This fully remote role allows working from anywhere in South Africa.

You will manage motor claims from notification to settlement, ensuring smooth processing for policyholders. Key duties include registering claims, assessing validity, communicating with stakeholders, and maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Matriculation certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in claims handling, customer service, or related field is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of motor vehicle insurance principles and claims processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with empathy for sensitive situations.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in computer systems and willingness to learn new software.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
• Stable internet connection and dedicated home workspace.

Responsibilities

• Receive and register new motor insurance claims, gathering all necessary details from claimants.
• Assess the validity of claims based on policy terms and investigation findings.
• Communicate empathetically with policyholders, third parties, and repairers throughout the claims process.
• Manage claim files, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
• Appoint assessors and investigators to determine liability and loss.
• Negotiate settlements within delegated authority limits.
• Process payments for approved claims and authorize repairs.
• Identify potentially fraudulent claims and follow procedures for referral.
• Maintain records in the claims management system.
• Adhere to SLAs and KPIs.
