Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote HR Generalist to manage a broad range of HR functions from anywhere, including onboarding, policy development, employee relations, and HRIS administration. This role supports a distributed team across time zones and SA labour laws.

You’ll partner with management to implement HR programs, manage records, assist recruitment, and drive employee engagement while maintaining confidentiality in a fast-moving, startup-style environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role, with remote experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and South African labour law.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive HR support to employees and management remotely, addressing inquiries and resolving HR policy, benefits, and employment issues.
• Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring clear communication and adherence.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for a smooth employee experience.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS).
• Support recruitment by posting openings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
• Assist with performance management activities, including check-ins and goal setting.
• Contribute to compensation and benefits program administration.
• Support HR projects on employee engagement, training, and development.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws for remote employees.
• Serve as a point of contact for HR-related matters, fostering a supportive remote culture.
