Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive HR Generalist to support a fully remote HR team. You will manage recruitment support, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and contribute to HR projects in a startup/tech environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, at least 3 years of generalist experience, and strong knowledge of South African labor law, HRIS, and MS Office. Strong communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Solid understanding of HR principles and South African labor law.
• Experience with HRIS and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work remotely.
• Experience in startup or tech environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment: posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, background checks.
• Manage onboarding for new hires.
• Respond to employee inquiries on HR policies and benefits.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS.
• Support employee relations, including conflict resolution.
• Assist administration of compensation and benefits.
• Support performance management and development initiatives.
• Contribute to HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
• Participate in HR projects as required.
