Job summary

FirstRand Bank Limited, through FNB Commercial Public Sector, seeks an Account Executive to oversee a portfolio of public sector banking clients, providing strategic guidance, cross-selling and growth.

You will compile progress reports, support decision making, ensure legislative compliance, manage relationships, and drive sales targets across multiple product lines while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum matric plus FAIS-recognised post-matric qualification.
• 4+ years' experience in Business/Commercial/Private Banking with credit and relationship management.
• RE5 – fit and proper is required for this FAIS-affected role.
• Willingness to travel and understand government operations and public sector trends.
• Understanding of how the banking system operates.

Responsibilities

• Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions
• Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in area of expertise
• Participate in planned activities, that are appropriate for own and employee development
• Ensure compliance to legislative and audit requirements and adherence to relevant processes
• Ensure expired limits are attended to and credit proposals reviewed
• Negotiate and provide appropriate solutions through deal structuring for low to medium complex clients
• Manage existing portfolio and acquire new client accounts to drive business growth and sales
• Define a sales and portfolio strategy to achieve relevant sales targets
• Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• Focus on providing optimal services and improving service delivery processes to meet or exceed customer expectations
• Identify and utilise opportunities for revenue growth to deliver on sales targets
• Prevent wastage and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
