Job summary

FNB South Africa in the Commercial Public Sector division seeks an Account Executive to oversee a portfolio of public sector banking clients with diverse products. You will guide strategy, cross-sell, and grow the portfolio by acquiring new tender and non-tender clients.

Based in Sandton, the role requires strong relationship management, credit judgment and travel readiness, with FAIS compliance and a client-centric mindset to deliver superior service and revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Matric and FAIS-recognised post-matric qualification (preferred: postgraduate).
• 4+ years in Business/Commercial/Private Wealth/Private Clients banking with 2–3 years of judgmental credit and relationship management experience.
• RE5 – fit and proper as the role is FAIS‑affected.
• Willingness to travel.
• Solid understanding of government operations and public sector trends.

Responsibilities

• Compile reports to track progress and inform decision-making.
• Provide subject matter expertise and leadership within area of expertise.
• Participate in development activities for self and employees.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and audit requirements.
• Attend to expired limits and review credit proposals.
• Negotiate and structure deals for low to medium complexity clients.
• Manage existing portfolio and acquire new client accounts to drive growth.
• Define sales and portfolio strategies to hit targets.
• Foster collaboration across teams to improve delivery and innovation.
• Identify opportunities for revenue growth and meet sales targets.
• Identify process improvements to reduce costs.
