Job summary

WesBank in Sandton seeks an Account Executive for Public Sector Banking to oversee a portfolio of public sector clients, provide strategic guidance, and cross-sell lending and investment products. The role demands strong credit judgment, relationship management, and adherence to FAIS requirements.

You will compile progress reports, support decision-making, and drive growth through new client acquisitions while ensuring compliant processes and term negotiations. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Matric and FAIS-recognised post-matric qualification.
• 4+ years in Business/Commercial/Public Sector banking with credit/relationship experience.
• RE5 - fit and proper as this is a FAIS affected role.

Responsibilities

• Compile reports that track progress and guide business decisions.
• Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in the area of expertise.
• Participate in activities for personal and employee development.
• Ensure compliance with legislative/audit requirements and processes.
• Review expired limits and assess credit proposals for risk and compliance.
• Negotiate and provide suitable solutions through deal structuring for low to medium complex clients.
• Manage existing portfolio and acquire new client accounts to drive growth.
• Define sales and portfolio strategy to achieve targets.
• Build relationships across teams to improve delivery and collaboration.
• Focus on delivering optimal service and improving delivery processes.
