Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join their operational team in Vereeniging . This critical role involves the continuous monitoring, management, and troubleshooting of the company's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will be the first line of defense against network disruptions, ensuring service availability and performance through prompt detection and resolution of issues. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic, performance, and availability using sophisticated NOC tools and dashboards.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, perform initial diagnostics, and elevate issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems, performance degradations, and service outages.
• Document all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with engineering and field support teams to implement network changes and configuration updates.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in a network monitoring or NOC role.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix.
• Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
