Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a vigilant Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to monitor real-time network health, respond to alarms, and ensure high availability across a telecoms infrastructure.

You will perform first-level troubleshooting, document incidents, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues quickly while adhering to ITIL practices. A diploma or degree plus 1–3 years NOC experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• 1–3 years in a NOC or IT support role.
• Familiar with network monitoring tools and ITIL practices.
• Basic TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and networking protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the overall health and performance of the telecommunications network using monitoring tools.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents and alerts; escalate when needed.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for connectivity, performance issues and outages.
• Document all network events, actions taken and resolutions in the incident system.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure timely resolution of problems.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their team in Centurion . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the real-time monitoring, analysis, and response to network events and alarms, ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of their robust telecommunications infrastructure. You will serve as the first line of defense against network disruptions, working in a fast-paced environment to maintain service levels and ensure seamless connectivity for a wide array of users. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the overall health and performance of the telecommunications network using sophisticated monitoring tools.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents and alerts promptly, escalating critical issues to senior engineers as needed.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for network connectivity, performance degradation, and service interruptions.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure timely resolution of complex network problems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC procedures and tools to enhance network stability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience working in a Network Operations Centre or similar IT support role.
• Familiarity with network monitoring software and ITIL best practices.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and common networking protocols.
